Richard Wagner made his Seattle Opera debut in January 1966. The company was only three years old when the ambitious General Director (and Wagner fan) Glynn Ross programmed this popular and accessible opera. The performance starred Brian Sullivan (Lohengrin), Ingrid Bjoner (Elsa), Chester Ludgin (Telramund), Dorothy Cole (Ortrud), and Richard Cross (King Henry). Wolfgang Martin conducted the orchestra of Seattle Opera. Here's the exciting finale of Act One!
