This
Fidelio brought the Seattle debut of an important new singer: soprano Christiane Libor as Leonore, whose “Abscheulicher!” displayed a voice of formidable power and artistry. Clifton Forbis gave a heroic account of Florestan, and Greer Grimsley was an energetically wicked Don Pizarro. Anya Matanovic, John Tessier, and Arthur Woodley all made important contributions. The Chris Alexander-Robert Dahlstrom production again brought the timeless story brilliantly forward into an eerie present.
