This summer Anthony Raffell switched over from Gunther to Wotan; Emile Belcourt, an elegant Loge in previous summers, added Siegmund (showing some skin with both costumes!); and Edward Sooter, an exciting Siegmund (and Tristan, the previous summer) took on Siegfried. Meanwhile, a young hotshot lecturer from New York City, Speight Jenkins, made a strong impression on opera-goers in Seattle when he gave the morning lectures.
