Speight Jenkins introduced Elektra to Seattle Opera in his first season, featuring Janice Yoes, then the current Brünnhilde of Seattle’s Ring, in the title role. Geraldine Decker was a memorably mighty Klytämnestra. The staging was by Siegwulf Turek, who had designed the ground-breaking projections of Seattle Opera’s 1981 Tristan und Isolde. Portland Opera’s Stefan Minde conducted.
