A cast full of Wagnerians, including Richard Paul Fink (Jochanaan), Peter Kazaras (Herod), Joyce Castle (Herodias), Thomas Studebaker (Narraboth), and Nina Warren/Eilana Lappalainen (Salome) made it clear that the company’s temporary home, Mercer Arts Arena, was acoustically and visually up to the challenge. Robert Dahlstrom’s spare, symbolist design, Sharon Ott’s high-energy staging, and passionate Strauss conducting by Gerard Schwarz made for a terrific show.
