Seattle Opera revived this beautiful new work, first seen here in 1998, after much demand from the public. Nathan Gunn as Riolobo and a Lawrence Brownlee as Arcadio turned in memorable performances, as did Nancy Gustafson in the title role. Even those who found Robert Israel's sets breathtaking in the original agreed: even the most beautiful operas look better in McCaw Hall!
